File:Olympic Council of Asia Flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Non-free flag image which is redundant to File:Olympic Council of Asia Logo.svg being already used in Olympic Council of Asia and whose non-free use fails WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#8 (WP:NFC#cite_note-4) and item 6 of WP:NFC#UUI in Asian Games#Symbols.

This file was apparently first uploaded to Commons as c:File:Flag of the Olympic Council of Asia.svg, but was deleted. The uploader then re-uploaded the file as non-free content locally to Wikipedia, which often is OK to do if the file and it's use(s) comply with WP:NFCCP. The uploader first tried to add this to "Olympic Council of Asia", but the file was removed per WP:NFCC#3a since it was redundant to "File:Olympic Council of Asia Logo.svg". So, the uploader then added the file to the "Asian Games" article in order to try and stop it from being deleted per WP:F5

Even if the consensus should turn out to be that the use in "Asian Games" is justified per WP:NFCC, there's really no need to have two svg versions of essentially the same file being used in separate articles; so, there's no reason to keep this flag version at all. -- Marchjuly (talk) 01:41, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Redundant non-free uploads by RainbowSilver2ndBackup

File:IAAF flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:IIHF flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:FEI flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:FIH flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:IFSC flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:M fisa logo.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:BWF flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:UCI flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).
File:ISSF flag.svg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by RainbowSilver2ndBackup (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

Similar to #File:Olympic Council of Asia Flag.svg above, all of these file appear to have been first uploaded to Commons and were subsequently deleted. They then were re-uploaded to locally to Wikipedia even their either might not need to be licensed as non-free or the way they are being used doesn't comply with WP:NFCCP. The uploader is apparently concerned that the files will be deleted per WP:F5 if they aren't used in any articles, and added non-free rationales for their respective uses; however, just adding a rationale is not a sufficient reason to keep these files as explained WP:JUSTONE, and the way they are currently being used fails WP:NFCC#1, WP:NFCC#3, WP:NFCC#8 (WP:NFC#cite_note-4) and items 6, 14, and 17 of WP:NFC#UUI.

I suggest delete for the following files since there's no way in my opinion to justify there non-free use.

The remaining files might possibly be ok to keep since their licensing might be able to be converted to WP:PD or they might be acceptable as a replacement for an exisiting non-free file; otherwise, they need should also be deleted.

  • "File:M fisa logo.svg" is an svg version of the non-free File:M fisa logo.png which might be OK if this is an official svg version put out the the original copyright holder, but might not be acceptable per WP:FREER if it's a user created vector of the png logo.
  • "File:BWF flag.svg" is redundant to File:2012 BWF logo.svg so there's no need for it to be kept per WP:FREER unless it can be converted to PD.
  • "File:UCI flag.svg" seems similar enough to File:Union cycliste internac logo.png that it might also be PD; otherwise, it might not be needed as non-free per WP:FREER.
  • "File:ISSF flag.svg" is redundant to File:ISSF logo.svg so if the latter is acceptable as PD, then a non-free version is not needed per WP:FREER.

I'm not completely sure why some of the files in the second group were deleted from Commons since a few of them appear to be identical of quite similar to exisiting Commons files. However, if there are concerns about converting them to {{PD-logo}}, then maybe {{PD-ineligible-USonly}} would be an acceptable alternative. -- Marchjuly (talk) 02:42, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

File:Anne Wignall - book covers - (pseudonyms - Alice Acland & Anne Marreco).jpg (delete | talk | history | links | logs) – uploaded by Boddah (notify | contribs | uploads | upload log).

This is a collage of non-free bok covers used in the article about the author. The use of the book covers is decorative and fails WP:NFCC#8. Being a collage, it also fails WP:NFCC#3a. Whpq (talk) 15:04, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Fair points although I would argue that being able to see the covers of every book published by the author in a single image adds immeasurable value to a simple list of the titles. There is very little information on this author anywhere on the web other than Wikipedia so it would be nice to feature the covers for completeness. Additionally each individual cover is very small and of low resolution. Boddah (talk) 18:22, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

A free image of Edward H. Levi has been uploaded (File:Edward_Levi_Attorney_General.jpg). This non-free image should now be deleted. ― Heb the best (talk) 17:42, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Per WP:FILMSCORE. Having cover images in the film article's album infoboxes is not necessary and in violation of WP:NFCC#8. Wcam (talk) 20:00, 24 January 2019 (UTC)[reply]
