"Degausser"
Song

"Degausser" is a song off Brand New's 2006 album The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me. It is track 4 on the album. The song wasn't available on the original leaked demos. It is now available to hear on their Purevolume.

Live performance

"Degausser" was played extensively during Brand New's 2006 tour, including their support with Dashboard Confessional. Originally titled "Take Apart Your Head", it was originally reported that Jesse Lacey said it would be released as the first single from their new album, but this was later found to be untrue when "Sowing Season (Yeah)" was released on the band's MySpace profile several months later.

On October 29, Jesse announced during a concert in Wilkes-Barre that the band had discovered that "Degausser" works well as an acoustic song, leading to speculation that an acoustic version will be released sometime in the near future. However, this speculation has started to die, after it was discovered that Jesse was referring to an acoustic performance of "Degausser", played by Jesse and Vinnie Accardi at an in-store Gallery of Sound show earlier that day.

In an interview with absolutepunk.net, Jesse Lacey stated that "Degausser" was his favorite track to play live from the new album, The Devil and God Are Raging Inside Me.
