Founded in 2010 by Lauren Santo Domingo and Aslaug Magnusdottir, Moda Operandi is a fashion discovery platform that gives consumers access to shop directly from designers’ complete runway collections. The concept, which was conceived of by Magnusdottir in 2009, gives "women the power to choose from the full collection."

Moda Operandi is the fashion discovery platform platform directly connecting consumers to brands. Its Trunkshow model invites consumers to shop directly from designers’ complete runway collections prior to production, while its Boutique allows consumers to shop from Moda Operandi’s curated assortment of fashion, fine jewelry, and home, available now. This unique model gives consumers unparalleled access to exceptional designs, service and personalization, and encourages creative exploration by designers.

In July 2018, Ganesh Srivats was appointed CEO. “Moda Operandi has a unique positioning and business model within the luxury retail sector. The company saw an early opportunity to disrupt the fashion industry through technology, and has built up a great online platform, an incredible assortment of designers, and a loyal customer base. Moda now has an opportunity to rapidly scale its business globally, while continuing to innovate the core platform and delight its customers.
