Development time for a smartphone running Android will decrease and overall development to market time will decrease by one month every year for the latest release.

For example, smartphones running release 2.1 of Android took 7.9 months on average for development to market time during 10/09, while smartphones running Android release 2.2 went down about a month in development to market time to about 6.7 months on average during 5/10.
