Musicinfo

Hei,

Sain sähköpostisi. Miten nuo suomenkieliset lähteet pitää tarkistaa, mitä sivun tarkastaja haluaa tietää niistä? JIP | Talk 19:30, 18 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Moi, firefly haluaisi vahvistuksen sille, että lähteet tukevat artikkelin väitteitä (suomenkielisiä niistä siis vain kaksi), ja että ne vastaavat wikipedian laatuvaatimuksia.BridgeScript (talk) 07:46, 19 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, you appear to have sent me an email. I prefer to communicate on Wiki, so if you could post your questions here, I'd be glad to respond (I did not want to repost it publicly without your permission). --K.e.coffman (talk) 22:57, 24 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Right! So the message and the question is this: Can you exactly pinpoint those references that do not meet Wikipedia standards for independent coverage? I believe the subject's notability itself is hardly open to debate, as it has been mentioned in high profile secondary sources (e.g., Finland's national public broadcasting company: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yle)

Your colleague "Firefly" who demanded changes to the article's first version said this of the above mentioned reference: "That source you linked is a good one, and would go a long way toward showing notability. I'd recommend working material referenced to it into the article."

And so I have done.

If the problem is that it's a company-related article, I'd like to draw attention to the fact that many companies similar to Musicinfo have articles published about them on Wikipedia, with similar references.

DistroKid https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DistroKid
Horus Music https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Horus_Music
TuneCore https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/TuneCore
CD Baby https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/CD_Baby

Do you categorically object to the article being published, or do you want changes to the references?

Pls note an article in mainspace does not mean it has met the requirement of Wikipedia and it should not take it as the benchmark article but one should seek to meet the guidelines of what is required. Guidelines for corporations have been significantly tightened in the past couple of years; the current guidelines are at WP:NCORP.
Secondly, any articles in the main space in Wikipedia could subject for nomination of AfD (articles for deletion) it the nominator deem the article fall the notability guidelines. When I reviewed the Musicinfo page, I concluded that the subject does not meet the current guidelines for notability. A company of 15 employees rarely does; the awards listed are trivial; and the coverage is in passing and / or self-promotional. K.e.coffman (talk) 06:35, 27 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Alright mate, I suggest looking into those nominations of AfD's fast in the case of a lot of companies here, or some might claim this game is unfair. BridgeScript (talk) 09:27, 29 October 2018 (UTC)[reply]
