The Ministry of State for Local Development is the Egyptian government body responsible for local development. It is currently headed by Abu-Bakr al-Jundi.

The Ministry of State for Local development was established by the decision of the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt to organize the Ministry of Local Development No. 380 of 1999, and one of the objectives of establishing the Ministry of State for Local development is to coordinate the various efforts that work for the development of local communities and local administration units in all governorates of Egypt. Contribute to the economic and Social development plan in partnership with the governorates.
