Project banner

The {{WikiProject Computing}} project banner template should be added (not subst:ed) to the talk page of every article within the scope of the project.

Usage

While the template does not require any additional parameters, it has a number of optional ones that add various extra features to the banner. The full syntax is as follows:

Parameters

General parameters
  • class – a rating of the article's quality; see the assessment department for more details.
    • FA – The article has reached Featured article status.
    • A – Could be submitted as a Featured article candidate; probably could use some small updates to make it Featured quality.
    • GA – The article has reached Good article status.
    • B – Could be submitted as a Good article nominee; probably could use some updates or may lack some features from the Good article criteria, but it presents a good overview of the subject.
    • C – The article has an large amount of content, but lacks information and organization in areas.
    • Start – The article is more than a stub, but may lack some important aspects of the topic's discussion.
    • Stub – The article is a stub; it likely contains one of the articles in Category:Computing stubs.
    • FL – The article has reached Featured list status.
    • List – The page is a list.
    • Needed – The article does not yet exist but has been identified as a subject that should be covered.
    • NA – Any non-article page that fits no other classification.
    • FM – The article has reached Featured media status.
    • File – The page is a file (image).
    • Book – The page is a book created via Wikipedia:Books.
    • Category or Cat – The page is a category.
    • Disambig or Dab – The article is a disambiguation page.
    • Portal – The page is a portal.
    • Redirect or Redir – The article is a redirect page.
    • Template – The page is a template.
    • Project – The page is a WikiProject page.
  • importance – a rating of the article's importance; see the assessment department for more details.
    • Top
    • High
    • Mid
    • Low
    • NA


Template formatting/function parameters
  • attention – "yes" if the article needs attention.
  • auto – "yes" if the auto assess option is needed.
  • listas – for example: "Last name, First name" if the article needs to be sorted by something other than PAGENAME.
  • needs-image – "yes" if the article needs an image.
    • imagedetails (appears only if needs-image is set to yes) - Additional details to describe the image that is requested.
  • needs-infobox – "yes" if the article needs an infobox.
  • small – shows the reduced size template if small=yes.
