Note: [1][2] |
Cherokee is a Unicode block containing the syllabic characters for writing the Cherokee language. When Cherokee was first added to Unicode in version 3.0 it was treated as a unicameral alphabet, but in version 8.0 it was redefined as a bicameral script. The Cherokee block contains all the uppercase letters plus six lowercase letters. The Cherokee Supplement block contains the rest of the lowercase letters.

History
This page provides table and text descriptions of only Cherokee uppercase, referring to Unicode version 3.0, 2005. As of Unicode version 8.0, 2015 Unicode (and all up-to-date unicode supported devices) provide support for Cherokee uppercase Unicode block U+13A0 to U+13FF and lowercase Unicode block U+AB70 to U+ABBF. For further information, including the complete character tables with current data approved by Cherokee Nation, kindly visit Wiki Visually. Note that Cherokee engineers and language professionals have yet to release an industry supported keyboard method, though Caps-Lock combined with selection of ᏣᎳᎩ Cherokee in all popular operating systems will continue to provide keyboard Cherokee uppercase.
