Vrishaketu
In-universe information
FamilyKarna (Father)
Vrushali (Mother)

Birth

Vrishaketu was born to Karna & Vrushali. He didn't participate in the war because he was too small to participate in the war. After Arjuna came to know that Karna was their elder brother, Arjuna promised Vrushali that he will take the responsibility of Vrishaketu. Pandavas felt very much depressed after Karna died, specially Arjuna because he killed Karna with his own hands. Pandavas won the war and started ruling Hastinapur. Arjuna became the teacher of Vrishaketu. Arjuna loved Vrishaketu a lot since he lost Abhimanyu, Iravan, Upa-pandavas in the battle and only Vrishaketu was the son remaining. Arjuna also felt that his eldest brother Karna is with them in the form of his son Vrishaketu. Thus Arjuna taught him all the ways of archery. Bhima taught all the mace-duel techniques to Vrishaketu.

Conquest for Ashvamedha

Yudhishthira decided to hold the Ashvamedha Yagna, or "horse sacrifice", to grant them the title of Chakravarti ("Emperor").[1] Arjuna led the armed forces which followed the horse around its random wanderings. He received the submission of many kings, either without or following an armed confrontation. He was thus instrumental in the expansion of the Pandava domains. Arjuna was the only warrior who alone conquered whole word in Mahabharat, Apart from Arjuna no one warrior ever achieved this feats. In the Ashvamedha Yagna, the horse was stopped by Babruvahana. Then Arjuna sent Bhima to free the horse. Bhima was defeated by Babruvahana. Bhima lost conscious. Then Vrishaketu went to the battle. Babruvahana and Vrishaketu soon engaged in archery duel. Babruvhana's target was Arjuna, hence Babruvahana asked Vrishaketu to bring Arjuna. Vrishaketu didn't go back and started fighting with mace. Babruvahana killed Vrishaketu by beating Vrishaketu with his bare hands roughly. He defeated Bhima and killed Vrishaketu without knowing that they are his relatives and he was the son of Arjuna. Arjuna fought with Babruvahana and went on upper hand since Arjuna was invincible. Babruvahana then used the divine weapon to kill Arjuna. This divine weapon would kill any person even monstrous demons. Soon Arjuna got killed and the news reached Chitrāngadā. She scolded him and revealed the truth that he was the son of Arjuna. With the help of Ulupi, Arjuna’s life was restored by a gem called Nagamani. Arjuna was very impressed with his son’s bravery. Arjuna was very inconsolable after seeing Vrishaketu dead. Krishna restored life of Vrishaketu. Babruvahana asked to forgive him. Arjuna felt very proud and forgave him. Babruvahana also apologized Vrishaketu.[2][3][4][5][6]
