Formerly known as PSINet HK [1] and CPCNet[2][3], CITIC Telecom International CPC Limited (CITIC Telecom CPC) is a wholly owned subsidiary of CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited (SEHK: 1883) , and is an Information and Communications Technology (ICT) company serving global enterprises with customized solutions based upon the company’s flagship solutions, which span areas of managed cloud computing, IP networking,[4] information security,[5] and data center services.[6]
The company owns and operates extensive global infrastructure, including computing, security and networking facilities, high performance communications linkages, and multiple other points-of-presence including in-country local sales offices.
In 2016, CITIC Telecom CPC extended its global reach by acquiring Linx Telecommunication B.V. 2001 – 2006
“Connecting the World to China”
CITIC Pacific acquired PSINet HK in 2001. In the following year, PSINet HK was renamed to CPCNet (subsequently renamed “CITIC Telecom CPC”). The pioneering and TrueCONNECTTM MPLS VPN was also launched, offering enterprises a new method to connect their distributed points-of-presence with breakthrough security, performance, scalability, and cost.
With six (6) points-of-presence in Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong and Taiwan, CITIC Telecom CPC began providing MPLS VPN services to Hong Kong and Taiwan companies with business operations in Mainland China.
Because CITIC Telecom CPC swiftly and successfully identified MPLS VPN’s great market opportunity and delivered a high quality product, very early, the company subsequently became one of the leading MPLS VPN service providers in Asia, and was awarded “multiple certifications” including ISO9001 (Quality Management System) and ISO27001 (Information Security Management System). In later years, additional ISO certifications was attained. These achievements acknowledge CITIC Telecom CPC’s ability to deliver highly reliable services and quality performance, as well as top notch information security standards across various diverse business areas.
2006 – 2011
“The Trusted ICT Service Partner”
In 2006, CITIC Telecom CPC launched TrustCSITM information security services and became the first managed security provider to operate a world-class security operations center (SOC) in Hong Kong. In the same year, CITIC Telecom CPC expanded presence from Greater China to South-East Asia. .
During 2010, CITIC Telecom International Holdings Limited acquired China Enterprise ICT Solutions Limited through CITIC Telecom CPC, representing a significant milestone along the company’s path by extending network coverage across Mainland China. .
In 2011, the SmartCLOUDTM high performance cloud computing solution was launched. In the same year, CITIC Telecom CPC received certification for ISO20000 (Information Technology Service Management System) and became one of the first VPN Service Providers in Hong Kong to receive three ISO certifications.
2011 - Present
“Innovation Never Stops”
In 2011, CPCNet was renamed CITIC Telecom International CPC Limited (CITIC Telecom CPC)[9] and became one of the first VMware vCloud ® Powered service providers in Greater China. .
In 2014, to address growing demand in the era of Cloud Services and Big Data, CITIC Telecom CPC launched DataHOUSETM at its Ap Lei Chau Cloud Data Center in Hong Kong and its BaoShan Cloud Data Center in Shanghai.
2016 saw, CITIC Telecom CPC commence acquired acquiring Linx Telecommunications.[10]. Linx Telecommunication B.V. was renamed and merged into the company as CITIC Telecom CPC Europe. The acquisition further extended CITIC Telecom CPC’s global infrastructure and points-of-presence to the Central Asia, Central and Eastern Europe markets, including regions encompassed by China’s “One Belt, One Road” economic cooperation initiative.
In 2017, CITIC Telecom CPC also became the first IaaS Provider to receive a new cloud-centric ISO27017 certification in Hong Kong.[11].
CITIC Telecom CPC thus became the first Asian managed services provider to own points-of-presence across a multitude of countries along the new “Digital Silk Road,” including: Amsterdam, Frankfurt, Warsaw, Vilnius (Lithuania), Stockholm, Helsinki (Finland), Saint Petersburg (Russia), Moscow, Tallinn (Estonia), Riga (Latvia), Kiev (Ukraine), Budapest (Hungary), Almaty (Kazakhstan), Tibilisi (Georgia), Baku (Azerbaijan), and other locations. This acquisition expanded CITIC Telecom CPC’s global footprint from Asia Pacific, North America and Western Europe to encompass Central Asia and Eastern Europe. .
To date, CITIC Telecom CPC has expanded global coverage of its TrueCONNECTTM MPLS VPN to nearly approximately 140 points-of-presence worldwide.
To enhance business efficiency, data security and ensure business continuity for customers, CITIC Telecom CPC continues to extend its global presence and invest in the expansion of its COCs (Cloud Operation Centers), SOCs (Security Operation Centers) and Cloud data centers worldwide.
