Design
Touch Arcade notes "AirAttack departs from the traditional 2D platform of vertical shoot-em-ups and opts for a fully realistic 3D world", creating a point of difference from other similar games of this nature.[1]
Gameplay
In the full version, the player starts with three planes, resembling the F4U Corsair, P-38 Lightning and P-40 Tigershark. They must choose one from the three and start their fight The latter planes supply the usage of pyrotechnics connected with flamethrower and fireball. The player's plane has a primary weapon that fires continuously at a constant velocity that can attack aerial enemies, land enemies except the train, and certain buildings. The plane is manipulated by moving it along screen, possibly using mouse, tilting the device, joypad and relative touch (manual input sensitivity). Double tapping the screen drops a bomb that can destroy land enemies and buildings in order to collect coins. Shop also appears throughout the level. Player can enter it to buy gadgets such as homing rockets, super rockets, turrets, shields, side planes, lightnings, bombs that can destroy wider area, extra lifes, cannons and timewraps (provides slow motion technique).
The player has stored four amount of lives; which can be reductively depleted through severe damages on a plane. If the lives entirely depleted, player will fail the level. Therefore, it will start from the last chechpoint. While player destroys most enemies, the player may gain occasionally health recovery, extra lifes, score, coins, cannon upgrade (develops cannons emitting) and purchased gadgets. The game composed of 10 great missions with gameplay accompanied by orchestral music. It features real time massive battlefield among Nazi party during World War II with the objective of clearing them up from the world. At the end of the level, boss enemies confront the plane. They are usually naval ships or aerial combatants, which can subdued by disabling their structures and firing projections one by one. Afterwards the player granted various awards in forms of coins and some articles. In addition, the game introduces "arcade" and "survival" modes. Arcade mode offers linear gameplay while survival is endless with large quantity of enemy planes.

The game received generally positive reviews from critics. Aggregating review website GameRankings provides an average rating of 78.75% based on 4 reviews,[2] whereas Metacritic provides an average rating of 84 out of 100 based off 6 reviews, meaning generally favorable reviews.[3]
