A Design engineer is an engineer that is accustomed to pulling the real from the abstract on a day-to-day basis. Design engineering is a combination of Art, Science, Philosophy and is, in some cases, considered a Religion involving Prophesy.

Combining Design and Engineering into a single discipline, though arguably rare, is perhaps a lost praxis in the present-day Military-industrial complex model.
