Does anyone think that the Cleveland Freenet deserves its own page as it was the first of this type of network? I was a member of the Freenet from 1989-1997 when they shut down. I loved this resource and am truly disappointed to find that it seems to be missing from the internet in even the smallest references.

Hamilton Community Net one of the original Free-Nets, was an early contributor to an alternative to the Freeport software providing a web/text interface to community information. It has been in continuous operation since 1994.
Ocean State Free-Net has been in continuous operation since 1994 - expired? June 2006.
Miami Valley Community Network The Miami Valley Community Network in Dayton, Ohio. Preceded by the Dayton Area Free-Net.
Chebucto Community Net in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada has been in continuous operation since 1994 and was the source of the CSuite operating environment used by many Canadian Free-Nets.
Brant FreeNet in Brantford, Ontario, Canada started in 1995 and closed in 2008. The domain, and community based content still exist under the control of the Personal Computer Museum.
