The Radar Research and Development Establishement (RRDE) was a civilian research organization run by the War Ministry that primarily studied the development of radar for British Army use. The were formerly known as the Air Defence Research and Development Establishment when they were located in Christchurch, Dorset between 1941 and May 1942 when they moved to Malvern. The group retained this name until 1953 when they merged with their Air Ministry counterpart, the Telecommunications Research Establishment (TRE), to form the unified Radar Research Establishment. The RRE was renamed by Queen Elizibeth II in 1957 to become the Royal Radar Establishment.
