This page documents the process how getting access to the PediaPress PDF renderer for Wikipedia books.

Why two different renderers?

  • The Wikipedia PDFs, made available by clicking "Download PDF", are optimized for speed and for at-home printing on A4 paper
  • The PediaPress PDFs, on the other hand, are optimized for quality and for professional book printing on A5 paper

Because this higher-quality rendering is very resource intensive and not very useful for at-home printing, it is only made available upon request.

Requesting a book to be rendered by PediaPress

When you edit a book, a link to PediaPress appears in the main dialog.

Click the link and you will be taken to the PediaPress website upload page.

Trusted revisions

To get a book rendered with trusted revisions, add "trusted" (in lowercase) at the end of the email subject. For example "Book:Canada - trusted".

Problems?

  • Report problems with the rendering (i.e. things not rendering properly, such as a template looking goofy) at Help:Books/Feedback
  • Report problems with the rendering service (i.e. if you do not receive the rendered book after more than one hour) to tools-access@pediapress.com
