In a rundown of "intelligent big beat", Simon Reynolds called the album an "oxymoronic masterpiece of 'darkside big beat'."[3]

- "Battle Flag" appears in the episode "Be Still My Heart" of the NBC drama ER. The song appears in episodes of Queer as Folk and Smallville. It was used in the trailer for the movie "Drillbit Taylor", and for the trailer for the "Duke Nukem Forever" video game released in 2011. It also appears at the end of the episode "46 Long" of HBO's The Sopranos.
