Privatization in the Czech Republic started in 1991 in form of Voucher privatization. It happened in 2 phases - Small privatization and Big privatization.

Background

Dušan Tříska, Tomáš Ježek and Václav Klaus are considered the main architects of the privatization.[1] Jan Švejnar called himself one of the main architects of economical reforms of early 1990s.[2] Jan Vaňous stated that privatization was inspired by British Columbia.[3]

Privatization started on 1 November 1991.[1]
