}} Harvey McArdle,[1] better known as Vincent "Vinny" Ashford,[2] played by Ian Kelsey, made his first on-screen appearance on 5 August 2016. The character and Kelsey's casting was announced on 17 June 2016.[3] Vinny is a property developer, who teams up with his old friend Pat Phelan (Connor McIntyre).[4] Vinny was billed as the show's newest villain.[3] Kelsey described him as 'an old fashioned confidence trickster'.[5]

Vinny turns up to tell Phelan about his flat development plan, and find out whether he is interested in investing. Later that day the pair meet to discuss the financial aspects of the project. Phelan assures Vinny that he will be able to raise the money but it will take some time. Learning that Jason Grimshaw has inherited money from his late father, Phelan's plots to get his mother Eileen Grimshaw (Sue Cleaver) to agree to invest in the scheme.[6] Vinny then revealed the truth: the flats weren't actually going to be built and his plan was just an attempt to con people out of the money they would be putting up front for deposits. Following this admission, Phelan agreed to help Vinny put his scheme into practice.
Later in the month, Vinny called round unannounced - on the same day that Eileen was due back from visiting Jason (Ryan Thomas) in Thailand. After Phelan tried to stall once more, Vinny eventually realised that the investment capital wasn't actually his own money in the first place and warned Phelan that the clock was ticking since there were plenty of others lined up to invest. However, it turned out that Jason had looked over the details and decided to invest his £65,000 in the development. Phelan phoned Vinny to confirm that it was now "all systems go" and told him that he'd get the money as soon as it had cleared through the bank. It was revealed in October 2017, that 'Vinny' is using an alias, and his actual name is Harvey McArdle. Vinny departs in late 2016, taking all the stolen money with him.[7][8] On October 13, 2017, he is seen on the screen for the first time since 2016, during a video call conversation with his elderly mother Flora (Eileen Davies).[9][10][11] Vinny is subsequently kidnapped by Phelan and incarcerated in an abandoned house. he later takes them both to a warehouse where he forces Andy to shoot Vinny in the head killing him before Phelan argues with Andy to give him back the gun which he then swiped from Andy and kills him too. - Per WP:NOTBROKEN, proper redirects should be used when available rather than piping links directly; for example, use the redirect Pamela Stuart instead of the direct link List of One Life to Live characters (1980s)#Pamela Stuart|Pamela Stuart.
- After formed consensus, all soap infoboxes will use the same color for consistency.
- Small text is no longer used in infoboxes, primarily for easier reading by those with eyesight problems.
- Per the Manual of Style, most photo captions are sentence fragments and should not end with a period. Only captions in the form of complete sentences require punctuation.
- To keep infoboxes uncluttered and easy to read, the MOS also recommends "succinctness" — using no superfluous or needless words — when captioning photos. For the purpose of this infobox, that means:
- Nancy Lee Grahn as Alexis Davis
- not Nancy Lee Grahn currently portrays Alexis Davis.
Relationship parameters
The Relationships section of this infobox is collapsed by default to conserve space, and is a direct replacement for any and all other relationship lists within an article. These lists have repeatedly been identified as unencyclopedic and detrimental to an article's quality and status by WP 1.0 standards.
Inclusion and notability
- Relations need only be noted if the relationship holds some notable significance for the character in question.
- Character age is no longer used after formed consensus at WikiProject Television. This includes the previously used fields "age", "born" and "died". The age of fictional characters is fluid and any relevant age information can be described in the article.
Qualifiers and detail
- Descriptions and qualifiers within parameter content are largely unnecessary because of the category names displayed in the infobox; for example, noting "father" or "sister" beside a listed name is discouraged because this information is made obvious by the categories "Parents" or "Siblings" and only clutters the box.
- When listing children, grandchildren, etc., it is unnecessary to note the parents, etc. that may establish the connection, as in: Junior Jones (son, via Mama Mia).
- The "deceased" qualifier should not be used as works of fiction exist in a kind of perpetual present tense.
- Only include clarifications essential to understanding the information.
- In summary, the infobox is intended as a collection of basic information and a navigational tool, not an abbreviated article. Filling it with endless trivial data defeats this purpose.
Parameter descriptions
Parameter | Explanation |
---|---|
