Linear and rotary
Shouldn't there be a link between LVDT's and RVDT's due to their similarity? The link in External Links seems to be dead. Is there any other place where this information can be found? -- 131.202.8.221 (talk) 17:43, 16 November 2007 (UTC)
Displacement and linear
I have the sense that "linear" is getting the wrong emphasis. The LVDT measures displacement along a line, but the output of the LVDT is a very nearly linear function of that displacement. See the callout of "linear range" at this external link at Figure D.
Furthermore, an LVDT has long, slender, coils to avoid troubling end effects. See illustration at Figure A (coils should be even more slender). Sadly, the current WP illustration shows short stubby coils.

Synchronous detector
The link to a wikipedia page "synchronous detector" goes nowhere. Is there another name for a synchronous detector? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 184.68.16.82 (talk) 22:24, 9 January 2017 (UTC)
