RadioBOSS is a radio automation software developed by DJSoft.net. RadioBOSS makes it easy and fast to build playlists with advertising support, hourly blocks, rotations, crossfading, automatic leveling and other professional-level features. It can be used for FM and Internet radio stations, at clubs, casinos, shops, hotels. RadioBOSS features clean and intuitive user interface.[1][2]
History
Development started in 2003 as playout automation system for a local FM radio station. A short history of how the project was started and reached its current state:
- version 1.0 (2003) - First public release. It wasn't really successful; most of the original development team members decided to leave the project.
- RadioBOSS 2.1 (2005) - Name changed to RadioBOSS. Version 2.1, the first version to have acceptable level of commercial success, released.
- RadioBOSS 2.8 (2007) - Added integrated streaming support (Icecast and Shoutcast servers) and other major improvements.
- RadioBOSS 3.0 (2008) - Added network stream relaying, audio file tag read and write support, translation to 14 languages.
- RadioBOSS 4.0 (2009) - Software divided into editions (Express, Standard, Advanced), redesigned user interface, new major features added.
- Starting with 4.0 the updates become very frequent with many new features added in each release.
