The Artist Village is located in Old Redford on Lahser Rd in Detroit's northwest side, which is located in the African American community. The location was once an abandoned commercial strip. The mission is to be a creative center for the community. Officially opening it's doors in 2010 to serves as a nonprofit community organization and project of Motor City Blight Busters. The place is a community rehabilitation project with founding partners husband and wife team Alicia Marion, John George and muralist Chazz Miller.
The Artist Village is a partnering cooperative project of Motor City Blight Busters for the beautification of the city Detroit, to destroy the cities blight by resorting the community with Art, Education, Technology.[1][2][3]
