M.B.C. Institute of Engineering and Technology, established in 1893, is oldest government polytechnic located in Sadhanpur, Purba Bardhaman district, West Bengal. This polytechnic is the oldest polytechnic in West Bengal. This polytechnic is affiliated to the West Bengal State Council of Technical Education,[1] and recognised by AICTE, New Delhi. This polytechnic offers diploma courses in Electronics & Telecommunication, Electrical, Mechanical and Civil Engineering.

Admission Procedure

Admission in the first year (regular entry) and second year (lateral entry) to the diploma courses are based on the merit list of JEXPO and VOCLET exam respectively conducted by West Bengal State Council of Technical Education.

In the college there is a library, study facility, language room, common room and seminar hall.

Students Union

Every year the student's union conducts a fresher's welcome called "aohvaan", social called "Metamorphosis", and a "Polympic" sports event. The Students Union is political influence free.

This College 85% student's got job and got chance for higher education in B–Tech.through lateral entry(JELET).

Anti-Ragging Campus

M.B.C Institute Of Engineering And Technology is a ragging free campus. Ragging in any form is strictly prohibited and any student found to be involved in the practice of ragging other students, will be liable to severe disciplinary actions as per law.

Ragging includes any or all the following:

Mental/Physical/Sexual abuse Verbal abuse Violation of decency Criminal intimidation/Wrongful restraint Undermining human dignity Financial exploitation/Extortion Use of criminal force

A Student indulging in ragging can be:
