A participant in or follower of the BBC television programme called Monty Python's Flying Circus which involved neither snakes, avian activities (except Harold the sheep) nor circus performance. Furthermore, none of the performers or characters appearing was called Monty. The adjective "Pythonesque" is used to describe speeches, scenes or events similar to situations or animated sequences shown in this British comedy programme (transmitted from 5/10/1969 until November 1974).

The Pythons were Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones, and Michael Palin.
