Labial scale

Labial scale refers to the scales of a snake which form the lips of the snake's mouth. The term originates from Labia (Latin for "lip"), which refers to any lip-like structure.

Infralabial refers to a labial scale forming part of the lower lip while Supralabial refers to a labial scale forming part of the upper lip.
