The Society for Imaging Science and Technology (IS&T) is a research and education organization in the field of imaging. Founded in 1948, as the Society of Photographic Science and Engineering (SPSE), it is headquartered in Washington DC. In 2006 it had about 1,500 members worldwide, and about 5,000 participants in its various technical and industry-related programs.
