Codeblack Films is an American film production and distribution company founded and run by entrepreneur Jeff Clanagan. It was created On May 3, 2012 when Lionsgate joined forces with Jeff Clanagan.[1]
Codeblack Films is the first independent, vertically integrated African-American-owned film studio. According to its founder, Codeblack Films was created to facilitate positive representations of African-Americans in film. Codeblack provides urban-themed programming that is distributed across theatrical, digital, broadcast and internet-based platforms. Codeblack's library consists of dramatic, comedic, romantic and faith-based titles featuring top African-American and Latino talent.[2]
