Official site empty!
The official site [1] is just a blank page! What is wrong? retirved 7/3/2009 —Preceding unsigned comment added by 201.9.221.122 (talk) 06:37, 7 March 2009 (UTC)

Cleanup this page
Can someone with the technical Wiki know-how add the collapsible "This article is in the scope of multiple wiki projects" to the top so we can show/hide the 3 wikiproject boxes?
And lastly, could anyone archive all these ancient threads? --Pstanton (talk) 23:58, 29 April 2009 (UTC)

Addition of BOINCStats BAM Account Manager
In addition to the two account managers listed, there is also BOINCStats BAM at http://boincstats.com/bam/ which is an account manager, forum, and credit tracker. Sire TRM (talk) 21:02, 12 December 2010 (UTC)
Etymology?
My feeling is that this is a backronym -- and that, more specifically, it's an allusion to Bill Watterson's Scientific Progress Goes "Boink". I don't suppose anyone could find a source for that? DS (talk) 12:31, 20 July 2011 (UTC)
The World Community Grid page mentions BOINC, but there's nothing on this page about the World Community Grid. Can somebody who understands the relationship, add it and add a link? juanTamad (talk) 05:38, 11 April 2016 (UTC)
- World Community Grid is a project using BOINC. We could maybe add it by expanding on the Projects section, but listing every project would be crazy, so maybe this and a few others could be. -- numbermaniac (talk) 10:25, 8 December 2016 (UTC)
energy consumption and standing back
the boinc homepage says boinc uses the idle time of the computer , idle means in computer-jargon that the switching operations in the clockcycle are not in use of a program . this may lead to the belief boinc would only use these useless switching operations without raising the clockcycle-frequency of the energy-saving-function of the computer . this is not true , boinc changes the computer to run full throttle , causing high energy consumption . as boinc has no option to not raise the clockcycle this behave must be called as environmentally harmful . boinc-project does harm to itself by resulting uninstallations , aggravated by no options for a gamer mode or the ability to completely stand back when the computer is in real use , considering also the networks use .--Konfressor (talk) 10:15, 5 April 2017 (UTC)
