Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Requests
![]() | This page has a backlog that requires the attention of willing editors. Please remove this notice when the backlog is cleared. |
If you think an article about video games should be added to Wikipedia and know that it meets the inclusion criteria above, please list it below with URL links to the reliable sources that prove its notability (e.g., reviews or dedicated coverage from IGN or Polygon, but not forum posts, blogs without a professional staff, or the official website of the subject). Please do not add games or developers that do not yet meet this notability criterion, as they will be deleted; instead help us work on another current article and remember to add the game/developer if they meet the criteria in the future. Once an article is created, please remove the request. Please see Wikipedia:Articles for creation for more information on what articles are acceptable. Thank you.
If you placed a request here that was since removed, it likely did not meet Wikipedia's general notability guideline, and is not a fit topic for an article at this time.

- Shaker (video game)/Loot Drop - Old School RPG on Kickstarter by Brenda Brathwaite and Tom Hall. Will probably succeed, probably has already generated enough coverage for it to be notable. Their company previously produced social games Ghost Recon Commander and Pettington Park.
- Debatable. Their kickstarter was cancelled and it seems like the only reliable sources might be about the cancellation. Samwalton9 (talk) 13:08, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
- Failed Kickstarter isn't notable enough for its own article, but the company is. Probably best to have all their products on the company article. - hahnchen 12:07, 30 June 2013 (UTC)
Comment: @Hahnchen: I'm pretty sure you're talking about this company for "Loot Drop". Here are the references I could find using a quick google search: [1](about the failed kickstarter) [2](Kickstarter) [3](Kickstarter) [4](Kickstarter) [5](Kickstarter) [6](Kickstarter) [7](Tag). This is why I removed this request twice, I will not remove it again but instead let you decide if you want to leave this up given that I've researched the top, in full detail, now. --Anarchyte 09:02, 5 June 2015 (UTC)

- UMG Gaming - New gaming league partnering with MLG and strongly supported by the community, may be hard to find information, but there are articles out there. - Tom Jubert, a narrative designer; co-writer of The Talos Principle, writer of The Swapper and FTL: Faster Than Light, and co-writer of all games in the Penumbra series.[2][3][4] Was nominated for a Writers' Guild of Great Britain award for his work on Penumbra: Black Plague. He passes the threshold of notability, I think; should be enough for a stub. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 13:35, 7 December 2014 (UTC)
- Maybe. There's a lot of sources that mention him in addition to what you provided (GiantBomb isn't very reliable, but the others two are), including from Eurogamer, Time, Game Informer, and Rock Paper Shotgun. My main issue is that nearly everything is about a couple of games he did, as opposed to actually him. Supernerd11 Firemind ^_^ Pokedex 04:40, 9 December 2014 (UTC)
- He also created Ir/rational Redux,[5][6] and worked on Binary Domain,[7] Driver: San Francisco and Lost Horizon. Here's a ref for the nomination.[8] Develop mentions him here and here. Apparently, Rock, Paper, Shotgun also talked with him in 2008.[9] But, yeah, most of this is about his games and not about him. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 13:55, 9 December 2014 (UTC)

- I propose we remove all recent entries by Coin945 that only have Metacritic links. This is not an overview of games listed at Metacritic that do not have Wikipedia pages. 'It has a page at Metacritic and not at Wikipedia' is not enough to justify spamming this page with entries. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 13:11, 25 December 2014 (UTC)
- If a game has a Metacritic page, it means it has been reviewed by at least 4 notable critics, thereby justifying its notability. I have already received permission to add the games here. I am using this page for its intended purpose. If you want the page to be nice and short again, then I guess you'll have to start creating some of these articles... :D--Coin945 (talk) 02:28, 31 December 2014 (UTC)
- It's more likely I'll write a script that will find every single game with four or more reviews on Metacritic that does not yet have a Wikipedia article, and then paste all those (tens of?) thousands of games here. That would be way more effective to prove my point. --82.136.210.153 (talk) 07:02, 30 January 2015 (UTC)
- Could you legit actually do that? It would create a huuuge list, but it is a valuable list nonetheless. It would near guarantee the creation of articles on all notable video games within the last x years without any being left out. It could be a subpage from here.--Coin945 (talk) 14:53, 30 January 2015 (UTC)

A game made by level 5 and is on a lot of consoles and deserves a page.
Card RPG by COLOPL where player answers trivia questions to attack. Started in Japan as "クイズRPG 魔法使いと黒猫のウィズ" (lit. Quiz RPG: Wiz the Magic User and Black Cat) and recently entered (Taiwan/Hong Kong/Macau) Chinese markets as "問答RPG 魔法使與黑貓維茲" (same lit. as Japanese). - Brutal Doom - As Doom mods go, this one seems to have received significant attention from gaming press for a couple of years now, implying that it's not merely one of the many mods which inspire a surge of articles for a few days and then get forgotten. A quick look through reliable sources returns results from e.g. PC Gamer, Polygon, Kotaku. It's also been positively referenced by John Romero himself in a video by IGN. I'm not sure if that's enough of coverage though. JudgeDeadd (talk) 19:50, 1 April 2015 (UTC)

- MonkeyPaw Games MonkeyPaw Games is about bringing the games home. We started as a digital download publisher in 2009 by hosting lost Japanese games in the West. We felt many Japanese classic games needed exposure in Western markets, a risk some Japanese publishers weren’t willing to take. Next, we needed a place to bring the games. So, we helped create the Import section on the PlayStation®Network, bringing forgotten titles like Cho Aniki, Alundra, Arc the Lad, Tomba! and many others to Western gamers. We’ve also developed re-envisionings of retro arcade classics.
