Images are usually located throughout an article, individually, near the text that is relevant to the image. In some circumstances, however, a gallery of many images together may be appropriate if the collection illustrates aspects of a subject better than individual images can.
You can edit existing galleries by clicking that gallery and selecting the gallery icon that appears below it. To add a new gallery, click the Insert 
menu and choose the "⧼visualeditor-mwgalleryinspector-title⧽" option.
The gallery editor is currently a simple box that allows you list images for the gallery using some simple wiki markup.
Each image is listed using its file name and caption in the following format:
File:example.png | caption
You must put each image in the gallery on its own line.
You can edit this list to add, remove, or rearrange images, and to change their captions.
