Ruth Buxton Sayre

Ruth Buxton Sayre was born in Indianola, Iowa, on January 25, 1896. She was the president of the Associated Country Women of the World[1] from 1947-1952. She was appointed to President Eisenhower’s Agricultural Advisory Committee in 1953. Her papers are held at the State Historical Society of Iowa in Iowa City, Iowa. Her life is chronicled in the book Ruth Buxton Sayre: First Lady of the Farm, by Julie McDonald.
