Master of Science in Project Management
The M.S.P.M. is the abbreviation for the professional advanced degree of Master of Science in Project Management.
Project Management is the discipline of organizing and managing resources in such a way that these resources deliver all the work required to complete a project within defined scope, time, and cost constraints.
The degree of M.S.P.M. is becoming more valuable as many organization, businesses, and governments are converting from functional organization types to matrix or projectized organizations.
Candidates of M.S.P.M. programs are required to have at least a Bachelors Degree from an accredited university and significant work experience (12 Years on average). Most programs require 36-42 graduate credits and a thesis or final project.
While programs may vary, most curriculums are designed to provide professionals with the knowledge, skills and abilities to lead and manage effectively. Students normally engage in the study of concepts, methodologies and analytical techniques necessary for successful leadership of programs/projects within complex organizations. Curriculums typically focus on problem solving and decision-making using case studies, teaming exercises, hands-on applications, active participation, research and integrative exercises. Lecture and laboratory sessions require the application of critical thinking to problem solving within notional and actual situations.
