Proposals, August 2016

Please check how many articles qualify for a stub type before proposing it.

NEW PROPOSALS

Moths, ad infinitum (further dividing of Category:Gelechiidae stubs sub- and sub-sub-categories)

Gelechiidae used to be at a fearsome 5500 stubs. Since then, it's been split up nicely across several subcategories. (See down the page at "Split of Category:Gelechiidae stubs", 2 August proposal. Thank you for doing that, by the way, Dawynn (talk · contribs) ). Several of the new categories still are fairly large and could be split up further by using genus-level categories, for which there is precedence (among other examples, Category:Euxoa stubs, Category:Proteuxoa stubs and Category:Sympistis stubs come to mind).

As such, I propose:
Article-numbers given for existing categories do not include numbers in their already-existing subcategories. Unless otherwise stated, all articles for the proposed subcategories can be found in the category I'm proposing it as subcategory of.

For Category:Anacampsini stubs (sub-subcat of Gelechiidae stubs through Category:Anacampsinae stubs, 464 articles), the following subcategories:

For Category:Chelariini stubs (sub-subcat of Gelechiidae stubs through Category:Anacampsinae stubs, 248 articles), the following subcategory:

For Category:Anomologinae stubs (direct subcat of Gelechiidae stubs, 700+ articles), the following subcategories:

For Category:Dichomeridinae stubs (direct subcat of Gelechiidae stubs, 178 articles), the following subcategory:

For Category:Gelechiinae stubs (direct subcat of Gelechiidae stubs, 564 articles), the following subcategory:

For Category:Gelechiini stubs (sub-subcat of Gelechiidae stubs through Gelechiinae stubs, 436 articles), the following:

For Category:Gnorimoschemini stubs (sub-subcat of Gelechiidae stubs through Gelechiinae stubs, 508 articles), the following:

Athens stubs

I propose creating:

For list, see User:Od Mishehu/Athens/list. This category will also pick up Category:2004 Summer Olympics stubs (extant category, 83 stubs). עוד מישהו Od Mishehu 09:52, 23 August 2016 (UTC)

Fungi stubs

Propose creating {{Capnodiales-stub}}/Category:Capnodiales stubs to split up Category:Dothideomycetes stubs. It would contain 254 stubs. ~ Rob13Talk 19:37, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

Subcategories for Category:Year stubs

Propose creating:

This will help split up a large category. ~ Rob13Talk 19:24, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

AWB seems to be way off, BTW - I've added Sweden-year-stub to 175 stubs, and there are still 300 more in Category:Swedish history stubs to do! Grutness...wha? 11:44, 26 August 2016 (UTC)
@BU Rob13 and Grutness: Went and started sorting the remaining stubs in the above-mentioned category. (Hope you folks don't mind me butting in? ) Any other places appropriate stubs might be hidden from what you know, or should that be all of 'm? Oh, and in case needed, support for the Africa-year-stub category. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 00:53, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Cheers :) - as far as I know unless there are any unstubbed ones which should be stubbed, the year and history categories should have all of them. Grutness...wha? 01:27, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Ah yes, unstubbed ones are a possibility. Suppose it's easiest to first sort what's left to sort and then just check which years are missing (and thus probably un-tagged, because I think almost every Year in Sweden is a stub...) Just the bunch 1901-1999 to go now, thankfully. EDIT at ~03:27 (UTC): &done. Also caught the handful of non-tagged stubs. AddWittyNameHere (talk) 01:42, 28 August 2016 (UTC)
Personally, unless it's for a category just short of threshold, I don't often go out of my way checking for missing ones ;) Sooner or later someone is likely to tag them anyway - and just sorting what we do have is workload enough! Grutness...wha? 04:16, 28 August 2016 (UTC)

Moths again

Propose creating:

These help break out a very large stub category, Category:Cossoidea stubs. ~ Rob13Talk 18:16, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

Additionally propose creating:

These help break out a very large stub category, Category:Crambinae stubs. ~ Rob13Talk 18:28, 21 August 2016 (UTC)

Speedy based on {{US-archery-bio-stub}}, which has 64 stubs. This helps clear the very large Category:American sportspeople stubs. ~ Rob13Talk

Washington sportspeople stubs

There are now around 70 stubs with {{Washington-sport-bio-stub}}, but I'm of two minds about this speedy. Do we really want to create stub templates for each state? Is this a defining characteristic worth the use of a second stub template, as on Chris Magruder? The obvious answer to me is no to both, and I'd prefer to see existing transclusions of this template removed instead. Thoughts on this would be appreciated. ~ Rob13Talk 09:48, 18 August 2016 (UTC)

1990s hip hop single stubs

Propose creating {{1990s-hiphop-single-stub}}/Category:1990s hip hop single stubs to help cut down Category:1990s single stubs. See the Petscan, which identified 99 possible articles. In my experience, there will be some false positives, but most will make it in to the final category. Certainly more than 60, at least. ~ Rob13Talk 08:47, 18 August 2016 (UTC)
