Universal Protection Service is the largest private security company in the United States.
History
Universal Protection Service was founded in 1965. It was started out as a janitorial company, expanding into security by 1969.
In 2015, it acquired Guardsmark, thus becoming the largest privately owned security contractor in the US.[1] Guardsmark's founder, Ira A. Lipman, joined UPS's board as vice chairman.[1]
