This article is too informal, and uses some rather cliché words where better could be used. For example, could the title be "Internet Equation Shorthand" or "Internet Equation Abbreviation"? And the two terms long-hand and short-hand definetely need to be changed. I will work on this Saturday, if I can. EulerGamma 02:37, 1 September 2006 (UTC)
- "Abbreviation" makes no sense, because many of these expressions are much longer than traditional mathematical notation. I think the correct term would be "linear notation" or "linearized notation"; those terms at least turn up relevant results on Google. By the way, all formulas aren't equations. True, it would be linear rather than abbreviation. I just thought of abbreviation on the spot. I can't think of anything better, so I'll just revert all of the terms "abbreviation" back to short-hand for now. Also, by "equations" I guess I meant "expressions," but "Internet Expression Shorthand" sounds too much like it is shorthand for 'internet expressions'. Internet shorthand notation it is.
