Usage

Enter this tag in the thumbnail caption of an image as a request for other editors to find citations for that image:

  1. to let the readers of the article know that the image adds unverified information to the article.
  2. to request that the image follows Wikipedia:Citing sources, Wikipedia:Verifiability, and Wikipedia:Reliable sources.

Note: this template is not for copyright status--only for verifiability of material depicted in the image as relating to the article in which this template is used.

This template is a self-reference and so is part of the Wikipedia project rather than the encyclopedic content.

You may use the optional date parameter, e.g. {{Fact|date=July 2025}}. This helps with the categorisation of articles requiring citations. Articles tagged with this template without the parameter will be given the parameter by a bot.

The simplest way to add this template to an article is to copy and paste {{Imagefact|{{subst:DATE}}}} at the appropriate place or use {{subst:Fact-now}}

(They all redirect to template:imagefact)
