When I connect to a DB with SQuirreL rather than come right back and let me start doing things, it sits there for a very long time - so long that I have a strong suspicion that it's actually loading up the whole DB or something along those lines.

What's happening - if I'm doing something wrong - what is needed so that it just connects and then lets me start doing stuff vs this long-running-whatever-its-up-to process??

thanks
