The Nokia rinGo is a rare and cheap phone with a basic design for NMT network in Norway, Sweden, Denmark and Netherlands. It is Britain's first pay as you go Nokia headset. Vodafone offered a pay as you talk package with a rinGo.
History
The first rinGo [1] phone was launched in 1995. It had a very simple design with no keys and came in either grey or green with a small monochromatic LCD screen. The design and battery improved in later versions and the phone could accept and reject calls with the use of oval shaped button. Later versions of rinGo were smaller, lighter, had a navigation key and came in a variety of colours.
Features
The improved versions of rinGo supported GSM and gave a talk time of 4 hours and a standby of 45 hours (1.9d) with its 900mAh NiMH battery. This phone was generally meant for talking over air and messaging service although It lacked MMS service. Replacement covers for the mobile was also available. It did not include multimedia, games or ringtones, notifications came through vibrations. The phone had the capacity to store about 60 contacts.[2]
Calculator, Watch and Calendar were pre installed on the mobile.
