The history section is lacking detail between 1970 and the present. It would be good to include some background in direct solution techniques, as well as pseudospectral methods.
There are many more applications in both the industry and aerospace fields. These subsections should be expanded.
Major Edits In Progress

Bigger picture, how trajectory optimization relates to parameter optimization and optimal control
Add a better overview of numerical methods used for trajectory optimization
Add description of each type of method, as well as pointers to papers on the topic.
List of trajectory optimization terminology, links to other articles where appropriate.
Create a section on common numerical problems, giving common problems that people run into, and several solutions to these problems.
