OctetString

The commercial name OctetString refers to the former software firm based in Schaumburg, IL Illinois, that published OctetString Virtual Directory [1] (VDE), the top-selling LDAP based virtual directory solution on the market.

The company was founded in 2000 by Clayton Donley and Nathan Owen, two former consultants from IBM. On November 16th, 2005 the company was acquired by Oracle[2]
