TheGlobal Navigation Grid Code (GNGC) is a point reference system of grid references commonly designed for the world navigation. It provides a globally consistent language of location in a user friendly format. It is similar in design to the national grid reference systems used throughout other nations. The GNGC was developed based on the work of GeoSOT team in Institute of Remote Sensing and GIS, Peking University. And GNGC as a concept was first proposed in 2015 in Bin Li(李滨)'s dissertation for doctor degree Navigation Computing Model of Global Navigation Grid Code[1].

English: Global Navigation Grid Code(GNGC) Chinese: 全球导航网格码 Definition: The code based on global grid for navigation is called Global Navigation Grid Code(GNGC)。 In the research of global spatial information sub-division, global navigation grid code is a geographic grid coding model with characters of multi-scale, discrete and suitable for navigation service. The grid coding model can not only solve the problem of navigation and positioning related, but also solve the problem in organization, integration, sharing and efficient service of spatial information.


2.概念的提出 2009年-2013年,北京大学地球与空间科学学院(北京大学遥感与地理信息系统研究所)程承旗教授课题组联合武汉大学、信息工程大学、中国科学技术大学、国防科技大学等国内优势单位,完成了国家973项目“全球空天信息剖分组织机理与应用方法研究”的研究工作。项目提出了全球剖分网格框架:2n一维整型数组的全球经纬度剖分网格[2]。初步解决了空天数据组织过程中面临的三大科学问题:基础框架、区位编码、表达模型。GeoSOT地球网格是一个上至地球外围5万公里空间,下至地心,并将整个地球空间剖分成数以兆亿个大到全球空间,小到厘米级粒度,由32级剖分体元组成的地球空间GIS平台,已有28项技术专利,并出版了专著《空间信息剖分组织导论》。

项目提出了“1+4基础编码、N套应用扩展编码”的完整区位编码体系。其中,地球剖分网格编码是基础编码,已经完成。目前正在开展研究和论证的是遥感、GIS、导航和网络编码的工作,并提出建立行业、部门编码的思路与方法。全球导航网格码就是紧扣整个课题组的研究框架进行的导航定位区位编码研究。“全球导航网格码“的概念首先由北京大学遥感与地理信息系统研究所李滨博士在其2015年的博士论文《全球导航网格码导航计算模型研究》中首次提出[1]。通过提出全球导航网格码并进行研究,可初步解决现有导航面临的一些问题,并为全球导航网格码的应用推广做一些初步的研究和探索工作。
