All fields are optional:
- building name - the name of the building(s)
- image - an image of the building; this must be in wiki syntax (e.g. [[Image:SomeFile.jpg|200px]])
- caption - an optional text regarding the building (perhaps an interesting fact about the building could be put here). If a caption is not provided, the template will use the year_highest and year_end fields to create one.
- location - the address (and at least the city) in which the building is located
- Major, international cities: Tokyo is okay, but Tokyo, Japan is preferred unless it compromises stylistic appearance
- Major cities in well-known provinces: Toronto, Ontario, Canada is unnecessarily specific; Toronto, Ontario or Toronto, Canada preferred (although Toronto is okay)
- Cities with relative international anonymity: Beslan is not good due to the city's relative anonymity; Beslan, Russia is preferred, Beslan, North Ossetia–Alania discouraged, Beslan, Russia, North Ossetia–Alania unnecessarily specific
- Cities with common names: Portland is not good; Portland, USA is not good either; Portland, Oregon (well-known state) or Portland, Oregon, USA preferred
- coordinates - use {{coord}} with "display=inline,title"
- status - this auto generates if left blank, the template will attempt to either fill in Completed, Under Construction, Demolished, Destroyed, or Never Built. To override the status added by the template, please assign something to this parameter
- constructed - the years in which the building was constructed (e.g. 1996-1999) two digits
- area - the physical area of the scheme (e.g. {{convert}} {{convert|400|acre|ha}} )
- population - a number
- population date - date of statistic
- units - number of dwellings
- density - density of the build (e.g. 38 hpa houses per acre)({{convert}} {{convert|38|/acre|/ha}} )
- construction date - date of construction, or official opening ( free text)
- construction architect - architect
- construction contractors - principal contractors involved
- construction authority - responsible authority (i.e. Nottingham City Council )
- construction style -free text: this could be Cottage Estate, Block Estate, Garden Suburb Radburn style estate
- construction influence-the architect or movement that inspired the architect
- refurbishment image - an image of the building; this must be in wiki syntax (e.g. [[Image:SomeFile.jpg|200px]])
- refurbishment caption - an optional text regarding the building (perhaps an interesting fact about the building could be put here).
- refurbishment proposal date Date the schme was approved by the responsible authority, or planning permission was granted
- refurbishment method - free text (i.e. Demolish Q-blocks and de-radburnise)
- refurbishment units - number of dwellings
- refurbished - date of construction, or range of dates, or official opening
- refurbishment architect - architect
- refurbishment contractors - principal contractors involved
- refurbishment authority - responsible authority (i.e. Nottingham City Council )
- refurbishment style - free text, this could be Buy-to-let, Social Housing, Loft, Start-up units, Gated Community
- listing type - type of listing, preferably with a template
- listing date - date
- demolished - the date in which the building was demolished
- succession - further buildings on the site
- governing body - the building management company
- famous residents - famous (or infamous) people who have lived in the project
- famous followers - famous projects influenced by this site
