- This article clarifies the possibility that there is no need for a complicated solution to the userbox issue. --NThurston 17:42, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
How exactly can this "solution" be considered a compromise? Aren't I Obscure? 20:43, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- The same way as the GUS is a compromise. The major difference in this compromise being that more userboxes would be allowed in Template:User than in the GUS, which is eminently reasonable. It also prevents the pending war developing from the merciless implementation of GUS from getting out of hand (which is why we compromise).--NThurston 20:54, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
- GUS is a compromise between outright deletion of userboxes and leaving them in the template namespace. This proposal just wants to leave all the userboxes in the template namespace. In essence, userbox supporters get 100% of what they want and opponents get 0%. I think we may have different definitions of "compromise".Aren't I Obscure? 21:20, 22 August 2006 (UTC)
