Hi Every body ... i wanna software to enable me use SMIT command in linux ..or software installed in Linux to use CDE of AIX5L ... .
the running guy
Someone should add a bit about the most distinctive aspect of SMIT: the animated running guy who jumps up & down upon command success, or falls down on failure. We always nicknamed him Smitty, even though we weren't actually running smitty (the TTY version of SMIT).

- Now, if only we could get the graphic of the running guy as a picture on this page, that would be great. Copyright status may be an issue. --Unixguy 12:03, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
webadmin
I wish IBM had delivered SMIT as Open Source. Marvelous Admin tool. The best open source alternative is WebAdmin, which runs on a number of platforms. I think SMIT is a bit better organized; "show me the command" is particularly useful. http://sourceforge.net/sourceforge/webadmin/
