History

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is a business unit of General Dynamics Corporation with over 6,000 employees in over 40 locations. Historically General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems has served customers within the U.S. defense, intelligence, and homeland security communities. A large portion of the work the company does is classified.

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems was named in 2002 after a reorganization of General Dynamics Corporation. The company represents the acquisition and realignment of other government and defense contractors including GTE, Lucent Technologies, Digital Systems Resources (DSR), Veridian, Motorola and Spectrum Astro.


Cyber Security

General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems is one of three of General Dynamics business units that provides cyber security offerings to the government. On August 28, 2012 General Dynamics Advanced Information Systems completed the acquisition of Fidelis Security Systems, a provider of network analysis and cyber security tools.[2]
