Dynamic Nuclear Polorisation is a mechanism used to transfer the high spin polarisation of unpaired electrons to less areas of less polarised nuclear spins. The technique is commonly used in combination with an NMR spectrometer to increase the sensitivity of the signal acqusition by several orders of magnitude.
