The Shell Pavement Design Method is used in many countries for the design of new asphaltroads. The main input consists of soil parameters, parameters for the other roadfoundation-materials (thickness and stiffness), and the expected number of times a standard load passes over. The output of the calculation is the thickness of the asfaltlayer.
