PH partition theory

pH partition is the tendency for the non-ionized species to partition into lipophillic solvents, or even across lipophilic membranes. The reason for this phenomenon is that the ionized species display an electric charged. Since the charge strongly associates with water, it is difficult for the lipophilic solvent to displace water.Cite error: The opening <ref> tag is malformed or has a bad name (see the help page).
