  • Comment: This makes claims of having a "notable reputation", yet is not proven at any point. As such, it's mere promotion of the company. The companies whose websites apparently use the service are not even referenced to be doing so. The use of blogs as "sources" is unacceptable the panda ₯’ 23:57, 16 June 2014 (UTC)
  • Comment: The changelog episode is pretty much the only reference that counts towards establishing notability. Blogs and sources that barely or don't mention the topic of the article do not count. TheCascadian 01:40, 28 April 2014 (UTC)

Cdnjs is a community driven, non-profit and open-source peer reviewed script repository distributed over participating Content Distribution Network's. It hosts many popular web development frameworks and a wide range of community-driven projects to speed up the web as a whole.

History

Created in 2011, Cdnjs has gained notable reputation among developers, and now serves traffic comparable with Microsoft's and Yahoo's content distribution networks.[1][2][3][4] BuiltWith reports that over 500, 000 websites now use Cdnjs to host their files.[5] In June of 2014, Cdnjs overtook Microsoft's market share for CDN technologies, making it the 3rd largest public CDN in the world.[6]

Cloudflare

The project infrastructure is sponsored by and hosted on Cloudflare's[7] world-wide servers as of early 2011.[8][9] Cloudflare partnered with the open source project after reaching out to Cdnjs in an attempt to speed up the web.[10][11]

Status

The project, as of December 2014, hosts over 1000 libraries, which contain Flash, CSS, HTML and JavaScript. The library submissions are maintained by 800+ developers using GitHub as the central management tool.[12] Many popular JavaScript libraries endorse Cdnjs as an official hosting source because of it's ability to help developers deliver their assets more efficiently[13][14][15][16]

Mirrors

Cdnjs itself is just a managed collection of libraries and vendors are free to host these assets on their own servers.
