R(i,j) is not defined. In general, I believe, it is a measure of how dissimilar the data is at two time points. For example R(i,j) = 1 for ||x_i, x_j||^2 < r, 0 elsewhere. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MalcolmSlaney (talk • contribs) 03:40, 7 May 2015 (UTC)
