Retroscripting is a term coined by Loren Bouchard, creator of Home Movies, to describe its production. A retroscripted script contains a plot outline and leaves dialogue deliberately vague for interpretation by the actors through improvisation.[1]<ref>Werthamer, Cynthia (1999-24-04).
